Trips/Tours
July will be a very busy month for us. Danny will be in Portland
on July 1st on a Zumiez Audio Tour and maybe you will see at Toya sighting
at Burnside. Danny then heads out to Sacramento with his Adio teammates
for another demo at the sunrise mall on July 2nd. And on July 3rd Danny
and Adio will be in Santa Clara for a demo at Copeland’s. Check
www.adiofootwear.com
for more info. Also on July 3rd, flow rider Derek Fukuhara will be leaving
for a month long trip to Europe. He’s heading over there with Filmbot
Files director Mike Stanfield. Go to www.unicron.net
for more info about where they will be going. It is our pleasure to announce
Listen Skateboards first trip to Europe. The Listen team will be flying
into Rotterdam for the first ever street contest put on by Left Distribution,
Co sponsored by MTV, Snickers as well as Vans Shoes www.wsr05.com.
Right after, they head over to Paris France to enjoy a few days of street
skating as well as shop signings. So, make sure you hit your local skate
shop because you never know if the listen guys just might be there, (July
19th – 21st). After that it’s back to the contest circuit
which they will be attending the KING OF WOOD contest in Rouen France.
July 22 – 24th. Now they are off once again to the wonderful town
of Copenhagen to do more street skating as well as shop signings. On August
1st they finally make there way to Germany for three days of street skating,
shop appearances as well as some autograph signings. On August 5th they
head to Germany’s biggest contest (August 5th – 7th). After
a few days of the contest circuit they pack there bags to Rome, Italy
for the last 5 days of the Europe Tour. There they are planned to skate
skate skate and on August 15th they finally had back home. We want to
thank all of our Europe distributors for helping make this happen.
Contests
Damn am was Damn good. For all of you, who missed it, be sure
to make it next time. Although the Adio dunk tank was mostly filled with
under age girls, it was well worth the long wait to see the hottest milf
in the skate industry get in the tank. Oh yeah, some skating went down
to. Well not for Rodrigo, because he rolled his ankle the first day there.
Like de ja vu of Tampa. Brian Brown ripped the contest, but had street
skating on his mind and spent most of that weekend getting street footage
with Steve Nesser. Flow rider Donnie Mitchell ripped the contest too,
and spent some of the weekend helping Vern film the contest. Derek Fukuhara
well what can I say he ripped too, and just missed the cut by a few people.
Last minute reserve and newest addition to the flow team, Jeremy Holmes,
managed to make the cut straight from his flight from LA. He had a red
eye flight, no sleep and showed up at the contest and managed to make
the cut. The jet lag caught up with him the following day, but he still
managed to pull off getting 29th overall. The icing on the cake was watching
flow rider Jamiel Nowparvar take 4th. He skated well all weekend and pulled
a lot of hard tricks. There was a lot of good skating in the finals which
makes these contests hard to judge, but 4th is as good as 1st when the
skating is this good. Check www.damnam.com
for some hot pictures from the dunk tank and some skate flicks too. If
you guys want to see more of Jamiel, he will be a skate camp instructor
at the 3rd Lair Skate Park the entire summer. Jamiel also does demos at
the 3rd Lair Skate Park every Saturday during the summer. After the Damn
am contest, we headed to Chicago for a demo at the Krush Skate Park for
Bad Boyz Toyz with the Adio team. The demo was great and thanks to everyone
in Chicago for showing us a goodtime. Special Thanks to Johnny Fonseca
and the guys over at Uprise for showing us some street spots as well as
all the guys at AWH for showing us around. We really appreciate it. After
Chicago, Donnie and Derek made the way over to the ES game of skate co-sponsored
by Active Ride Shop. Donnie and Derek had a head to head battle in the
final rounds and Derek managed to take 1st place while Donnie got 3rd.
By winning the contest, Derek got an invite to battle with the pros in
the ES game of skate at the A.S.R. trade show in San Diego this September.

in Norco. Check the photos on the active website. The Listen family will
be at the Hot Dogs and Hessians in Escondido on July 8th. Donnie Mitchell
usually makes a random guest appearance at any given Hot Dogs and Hessians
event since he rides for Active. Am Contest in Puerto Rico on July 15-17
held by Krew Clothing and hosted by the guys who run contests the best,
the guys for Skate Park of Tampa. Wish would have known about this before
the Europe trip got planned. Puerto Rico is one of the best places in
the world period. And it would have been a good time to. THE TAMPA GUYS
do it up right. For those who can make it, check www.skateparkoftampa.com
for contest info. Rob Meronek, send the photos over to us from this event.
