Happy holidays to you all

Mags
This month you could find almost all of our ams in all the skate mags around. Since it was his first photo ever in a magazine, I think its only proper to mention the 2 page spread of our flow rider Jamiel Nowparvar in the December 2005 Slap. Along with Jamiel is a 2 page spread of Brian Brown in his Adio Footwear ad. Brian also had a Listen ad in that same mag along with a photo of him skating a makeshift spot by his house in New York. You can also see his Listen ad in the January 2006 Issue of Skateboarder Magazine along with another photo of a spot by his house. Danny Montoya has the skate anatomy in the same issue. Moving over to issue 22 of The Skateboard Mag Listen’s ad features Rodrigo Petersen. And last but definitely not least is the 25th anniversary issue of Thrasher which also features our Rodrigo Petersen ad.
For all you youngsters out there, this issue of Thrasher serves as a good history lesson. For us old folks it's nice for us to sit back and reminisce. Thrasher's annual Skater of the Year party is being held on December 16th. Check the Thrasher website for more info www.thrashermagazine.com . Chris Cole is chosen as this year’s skater of the year. I remember when this kid use to be at Love Park back in the day doing the craziest tech tricks in baggy yellow pants and huge purple t-shirts. Chris has come a long way and is still doing some of the most insane tricks but now at a whole other level. Congratulations Chris! It’s good to see a local Philly boy win this shit
Trips/Tours
It's hard to believe I don't have anything exciting to report on this end. All year long all I heard from everyone was "damn, you guys are everywhere". Which was true since it's important to be everywhere when you are trying to promote a brand, however it was nice to be home to sit back and relax for a minute. And a minute is exactly what it was. Rodrigo Petersen is back from a month long trip from Europe which was spent half with LRG and half with Nike. Since his return to the states he has me out filming everyday, so like I said the break wasn't too long. Brian Brown also came out for a week and by the time everyone reads this; he will be back out here for another 2 weeks. This time keeping my ass busy behind the lens. Danny's lucky ass went to the Cayman Islands for a skate camp with Steve Nesser for a week. I wish somebody would take me to an island. Rob has been holding it down in the LBC collecting some good top secret footage. As for December, I think our biggest trip will be when we go up to SF for the Skater of the Year Party which is always tons of fun. Next year we will be on the road a lot, so I better enjoy this time at home while I can.
Contests
Jamiel Nowparvar won best trick on a manual pad at the best trick contest held at 3rdlair Skate Park and sponsored by Roots Skateboards. Check www.3rdlair.com for photos and info.
Videos
I'll just keep it rollin with Jamiel. Jamiel has some tricks in the new first ever 3rd lair video. Check www.3rdlair.com for more info on that video. Jamiel also has a full video part coming out in Benji Meyer's latest video. Benji has been doing videos for years out in Minneapolis and Listen is proud to be a sponsor of this video. The premier is still tentative but should be sometime in late December or early January.
We are proud to announce that we now distribute 411 Video Magazine. So make sure you get the newest issue 13.4 featuring Listen riders in the Rotterdam photo contest bonus section. And if you still haven't seen issue 13.3, get it.
In other video news, long time South American filmer James Arias has released his latest issue of Evolucion 5. For those who have never heard of this, it is a South American version of 411. Most importantly, Issue 5 has footage from our trip to Colombia in May. On the subject of Spanish speaking countries, flow rider Gabriel De La Mora is working on a video down in Mexico. That should be out soon.
Misc.
Long over due Congratulations to Gabe Clement, the team manager at DVS, on the birth of his child. Congratulations to Ira Ingrahm, ex-411 employee, who will be getting married on December 4th, And finally, last month I forgot to mention the passing of Love Park founder and creator Edmund Bacon. He always said he was famous because of his son Kevin, but for skateboarders everywhere, he was and will always be the most famous Bacon for creating one the world's most famous skateboard spots. Philadelphia lost one of its favorite sons, and the skateboard world lost the person who made one of the true skate Mecca’s. R.I.P.
