Sleep! What is it and who gets it? Well if you work for a fairly new company, then you know that you never get any. New hotels, different cities, fast food, and trip after trip of long hours behind the wheel or sitting crammed between two fat people in a coach seat across the country. That is the life I am living right now and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Who needs sleep anyway, its over rated. I need a clone so I can be in 2 places at same time. April has been a hectic month for us and that is why this newsletter is a few days late but read on to see why!

Mags

Ok, I can do the norm and tell you guys about Danny and Rob's skate ad's that we are running right now or I can tell you::::: ROB G'S COVER! That's right. Rob G has the Cover of Skateboarder Magazine. That has a nice ring to it. I'll just keep sayin it. Rob G has the cover. Not only does he have the cover, but there is also a sequence in the magazine of the cover shot. Oh yeah, we are running Rob's skate ad this month too. Peep that shit. Its ill! Rob had to haul some ass to pull that shit off. Good job Rob, everyone here at Listen is truly proud of your achievement!


Trips/Tours

Straight from Phoenix to Thailand. The whole Listen Team was out in Phoenix for the last week of March doing a demo with Cowtown and street skating with The Skateboard Mag photographer, Matt price and our newest flow rider, Ricky Geiger. There's a lot of good stuff to skate out in Phoenix the only problem is that the weather is too hot. I don't know how those guys do it.

Danny, Rob and Brian left the trip early to head back to Long Beach for Rob's 30th birthday party J. I stayed out in Phoenix with Rodrigo and the flow squad for the Phoenix Am contest. Read more about the contest in the contest section. The drive back from Phoenix took half as long as the drive there. Even though I made good time, I only had one day to get ready for a two week trip to Thailand with Danny, Rob, Danny Supa, Joey Pepper and Skateboarder Magazine photographer Ben Colen. The time I spent in Phoenix will get me prepared for some hot weather out in Thailand. It will be hot but it will be worth it. My good friend Jeff Moynihan lives there and he will be our tour guide around the country for two weeks. We will also meet up with another one of my good friends, Rick Valenzuela, who just recently moved there. During our stay we will get to experience Thailand’s New Year which is basically a country wide water fight for three days. The pictures and story will be in a future issue of Skateboarder Magazine.

Contests

Phoenix Am was held the first weekend of April at a new park this year in Peoria. That park is amazing and by far one of the best parks in all of Arizona. There was a good turn out and everyone who made it out saw some great skating. Two of our flow riders, Donnie Mitchell and Ricky Geiger made the cut to the semi-finals on Sunday. I got to take my hat off to those guys for makin it that far. It was super hot and they were skating in the middle of the day out in that desert heat which is not an easy thing to do. Top Shop in Minneapolis at 3rd Lair will be held April 21-23. Check www.3rdlair.com for more info. If you're shop hasn't entered yet, tell them to get on it. It's fun time out there and worth it. There will also be a mini trade show going on at the same time so it's a good chance to get out and see the new stuff that each company will be showing. We will have a tent set up there so stop by and say hi. If your company doesn't have a tent space reserved, get on it now.

The Benji Meyer video, Weekend Warriors is out now and it's amazing. Our flow rider Jamiel Nowparvar has a part in it and it's awesome. Get it now while it's hot.
